Open Faced Tuna Burger

Let's be honest - we are all craving a burger at some point during the week. Avoid sliding in the drive - thru to satisfy that burger kick and opt for these high protein and delicious tuna patties instead!

Ingredients

  • 2 serving chunk light tuna, drained
  • 30g egg whites
  • 1/2 tbsp xanthan gum
  • 35g diced onion
  • 20g diced pickles
  • 85g shredded romaine
  • 32g sugar free ketchup
  • salt + pepper + garlic + paprika to taste

Directions

1. In a large bowl, combine tuna, eggs, xanthan gum and seasoning and work together to form patty mix.(*optional - add in onions here if desired)

2. Spray cast iron lightly with 0 calorie cooking spray, and preheat on medium heat.

3. Form tuna mix into 3 round patties.

4. Place on cast iron and lightly press down on each patty with spatula to flatten.

5. Cook on each side for about 3-5 minutes, remove from cast iron and let rest.

6. On a plate, add shredded romaine. Add patties and dress with onion, pickle and ketchup.
